Vyacheslav Gennadyevich Butusov (born October 15, 1961, Krasnoyarsk, USSR) is a Soviet and Russian rock musician, singer, composer, writer, public figure, actor; Honored Artist of the Russian Federation (2019), winner of the Lenin Komsomol Prize (1989). Leader and vocalist of the rock bands Nautilus Pompilius (1982-1997), Yu-Peter (2001-2017) and Order of Glory (since 2017). In 1978, Butusov met Dmitry Umetsky. Both were passionate about rock music and founded the band Nautilus Pompilius. In 1983 Butusov met poet Ilya Kormiltsev. During the band's popularity in the mid-1980s, new wave was its primary genre; some of the band's best-known songs to Butusov's music include "Chained Together", "View from the Screen", "I Want to Be with You", "Last Letter", "Walking on Water", "Titanic", and "Wings". By 1988, Nautilus Pompilius was becoming one of the country's famous rock bands, but due to creative differences between the two founders of the group, Dmitry Umetsky left Nautilus. The band existed until 1997, after which Butusov began a solo career. He recorded a number of albums and participated in Boris Grebenshchikov's Terrarium project.
