Ne-Yo (Shaffer Chimere Smith, born October 18, 1979 in Camden, Arkansas, USA) is a three-time Grammy Award-winning American singer, songwriter, producer, actor, philanthropist. Ne-Yo gained fame by writing the song "Let Me Love You" for the American singer Mario. The song reached the first position on the Billboard Hot 100 and stayed on the top of the chart for nine weeks. In early 2006, Def Jam released Ne-Yo's debut album "In My Own Words". Due to the popularity of the second single "So Sick", the album debuted at number one, selling 301,000 copies in its first week of sales. That same week, the single "So Sick" climbed to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Ne-Yo's second album "Because of You" was released on May 1, 2007 and topped the Billboard 200 chart. On August 5, 2008, Ne-Yo's third studio album "Year of the Gentleman" was released. The album sold 250,000 copies in the United States in its first week, placing "Year of the Gentleman" at number two on the Billboard 200 chart. On February 8, 2009, the 51st Grammy Awards were held where Ne-Yo won two awards in the categories of "Best Male Vocal R&B Performance" and "Best R&B Song" for his song "Miss Independent". Ne-Yo released his fourth studio album, Libra Scale, in November 2010. The first single from the album was the song "Beautiful Monster," In the UK, the song reached number one on the UK Singles Chart. NiYo released his fifth studio album, "R.E.D." Nov. 6, 2012. The second single was the track "Let Me Love You (Until You Learn to Love Yourself)." In the UK, the track reached number one on the UK Singles Chart and reached number six on the Billboard Hot 100
