Ariana Grande Thanks Fans for Their Love as "Wicked" Hits Theaters

Pop icon Ariana Grande has made her silver screen debut as Glinda, the future Good Witch of the North, in Wicked, which hit theaters yesterday (November 22). The highly anticipated film, the first of a two-part adaptation of the Broadway sensation, also stars Cynthia Erivo, Jonathan Bailey, Michelle Yeoh, Peter Dinklage, and Jeff Goldblum.

To mark this milestone, Grande shared an emotional message with her fans, reflecting on their unwavering support during what many playfully dubbed her music “drought.” On her Instagram stories, she wrote:

"I want to tell you how grateful i am for the many ways in which you’ve held me over the years. You have held my hand and helped mend my heart time and time again over the past ten years and i would never be here without you. I mean that in every way you can interpret it.”

Grande, who’s been immersed in filming Wicked and its 2025 sequel, acknowledged the sacrifices her fans made during this quieter period in her music career. She praised their “fierce protection” and their willingness to embrace her growth, adding:

“From the days of doing many hour long meet n greets in the garage, when it was just us, til i am old lady Peaches, I will love you this same way. Thank you for growing with me. It’s one of the greatest joys and gifts of my life.”

The release of Wicked has already been hailed as part of the "Glicked" phenomenon, with audiences flocking to see both Wicked and Gladiator 2, a pairing that’s expected to dominate the box office much like the Barbenheimer craze did in 2023.

As Grande steps into this new chapter, fans are eagerly anticipating not just her next cinematic move but also a potential end to the so-called “drought” in her music career. Could a new era of Ariana music be on the horizon? Only time will tell.
