Mot (Matvey Aleksandrovich Melnikov; born March 2, 1990) is a Russian musician and rapper. At the age of 19, Melnikov auditioned for the Battle for Respect contest on the Muz-TV channel, which was dedicated to promoting hip-hop culture and a healthy lifestyle. As a result of several battles, he managed to take one of the top 40 places. After the contest, a new nickname of the singer Mot appeared to replace the old BthaMoT2bdabot. In 2011, Mot released the album Remote, the tracks of which are written in the style of relaxation, which bribed many female hip-hop fans. In 2013, Mot received an offer from Timati's project Black Star Inc.
In January 2022, it became known that Mot was leaving the Black Star label. Information about this was confirmed by Pashu, the head of the production center. The concluded contract with the rapper came to an end, which Matvey did not extend. The artist made many hits with such performers as Bianca, Ani Lorak, Jah Khalib, Misha Marvin, Egor Krid and others. In February 2019, Mot pleased fans with a track sung in duet with Valery Meladze. In the summer of the same year, together with singer Sievert, Mot released a joint summer single "Sails". The exit from the label "Black Star" became a stimulus for Mot to reveal creative talents. In 2023, he pleased fans with the lyrical track "Goosebumps". And Mot also had an English-language song Excuse My English, which he performed together with 8MIRACLE (Alexei Mironov). Summer dance collaboration with the group Artik & Asti was the composition "Beyond the horizon". And his track "Accidents are not accidental" received more than 23 million views on YouTube for a short period of time.
