Oleg Gazmanov (Oleg Mikhailovich Gazmanov, born July 22, 1951 in Gusev, Kaliningrad Region, Russia) is a Russian singer, songwriter, composer, musician, producer and actor. He works in the genre of pop, pop-rock. Oleg began his singing career in 1987, presenting the song "Lucy", which became popular in a short time. In 1989 Gazmanov founded the band "Escadron" and released his debut vinyl album, which included the compositions "Lucy", "Jamaica", "I'm flying away". The album sold over 30 million copies. The first studio album of the singer included hits "Yesaul", "Wait", "Sailor", "Fresh Wind", "Putana", after the release of which in 1992 Oleg was awarded by The World Music Awards. In 2001 the performer received the title of People's Artist of the Russian Federation. In 2002 Gazmanov became a Goodwill Ambassador of the United Nations.
