Axl Rose Lends His Iconic Voice to Michael Schenker’s New Take on UFO Classic ‘Love To Love’

In an exciting collaboration for rock fans, Axl Rose has teamed up with legendary guitarist Michael Schenker to breathe new life into UFO’s classic track ‘Love To Love’. Schenker, who first made waves as a member of UFO in the 1970s, is revisiting his iconic years with the band on his latest album, My Years With UFO, which dropped on September 20.

The album celebrates 50 years since Schenker’s groundbreaking contributions to UFO, and he’s called on some of the biggest names in rock to join him on the project. Axl Rose’s unmistakable vocals give ‘Love To Love’ a fresh, powerful edge, reminding listeners of the deep influence UFO had on Guns N’ Roses.

But the star-studded collaborations don’t end there. Slash, Rose’s GN’R bandmate, also lends his guitar prowess to the album, along with other rock legends such as Dee Snider (Twisted Sister), Joe Lynn Turner (Rainbow, Deep Purple), and Jeff Scott Soto, known for his work with Yngwie Malmsteen.

Schenker’s My Years With UFO marks the first in a series of three albums under a new deal with earMUSIC, with two more releases planned for 2025 and 2026. Reflecting on the decision to revisit his UFO era, Schenker explained: “My Years With UFO’ now: “In ’72 I joined UFO. I was 17 years old. In ’73 we recorded ‘Phenomenon’. In ’74, it was released. So it’s 50 years, a long time. And that’s when it started with UFO. And, of course, that gave me the idea to celebrate – 50th anniversary.”

“And I have also noticed in the past few years that re-releases, they had no information – they just had the name UFO and the song titles, but there’s no info, no details. And so I thought I’d take this opportunity to inform people, to re-educate or educate newcomers that have — maybe they sing the songs, but have no clue what it is.”
