Kanye Omari West. Born June 8, 1977, Atlanta) in Atlanta, Georgia. - American rapper, music producer, songwriter, sound designer, billionaire, and designer. He grew up in Chicago, where he was involved with music from a young age. His parents divorced when he was three, after which Kanye and his mother moved to Chicago, Illinois. His father, Ray West, was a member of the Black Panther Party and was one of the first African-American photojournalists for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution daily newspaper. Kanye's mother, Donda C. West, was an English professor at Clark-Atlanta University and Dean of the English Department at Chicago State University before ending her career to become her son's manager. Kanye West lived in a middle-class family and attended Polaris High School in Oak Lawn[en], a Chicago suburb. When asked by reporters about his grades at school, West said he got "B's and A's." In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he rose to fame as a producer, taking part in the creation of hits for artists such as Jay-Z, Ludacris, Talib Kweli and Alisha Keys. After dropping out of college to focus on music, he decided to become a rapper, releasing his debut album, The College Dropout, in 2004. This was followed by Late Registration (2005), Graduation (2007), 808s & Heartbreak (2008), My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (2010), the collaborative album Watch the Throne (2011) with Jay-Z, Yeezus (2013), The Life of Pablo (2016), ye (2018), Jesus is King (2019), Donda (2021) and its sequel released in 2022. Kanye West is known for his direct remarks at various ceremonies and on social media, which has led to scandals more than once. As a designer, he has worked with companies such as Nike and Louis Vuitton, and in 2013 he launched the Yeezy clothing line with Adidas. He also founded the GOOD Music label and the creative agency DONDA. In 2014, he married reality TV star and model Kim Kardashian. Kanye West has received critical acclaim and has been repeatedly named one of the greatest artists of the 21st century. Bloomberg reports that Kanye West's fortune as of 2021 is estimated at $6.6 billion and most of the capital is in the Yeezy brand.
