Hans Florian Zimmer (born September 12, 1957, Frankfurt-am-Main, Germany) - German film composer known for his music for films and computer games. He is widely known for his compositions that directors successfully use in action films and thrillers.
He is best known for his music for such films and cartoons as Rain Man, The Lion King, The Prince of Egypt, Spirit: Soul of the Prairie", "The Rock", "The Best", "Black Hawk Downfall", "Gladiator", "Angels and Demons", "Pearl Harbor", "Inception", "Interstellar" and "Robot named Chappie", "Dune", for the film series "Pirates of the Caribbean", "The Dark Knight", "Sherlock Holmes", and also for the games Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Crysis 2.
He is a two-time Oscar winner, three-time Golden Globe Award winner, and four-time Grammy Award winner.
On December 8, 2010 Hans Zimmer was awarded a star on Hollywood's famous Walk of Fame.
