Valery Kuras (Valery Demizovich Kuras; born May 19, 1958, Moscow) is a professional author and performer in the genre of Russian chanson.
The singer is a talented surgeon and a farthing merchant. In his youth, Valery practiced in ophthalmology clinics and performed over a hundred successful eye surgeries. The man achieved considerable heights in business, headed pharmacological companies.
The release of the video clip for the composition "Droplets" brought him fame among the general public. Prominent actors and the famous Russian performer Presnyakov - senior took part in the shooting of this creation. It was he, who, after listening to Kuras' work, helped the chansonnier to develop his musical career.
His debut album, "Kapelki", was released in 2005 and includes a so-called chanson for ordinary, educated people, avoiding foul language and blatny jargon. The songs are stylistically close to the blues genre. Most of the songs for the album were written by Andrei Pryazhnikov.
For several years there was a lull in the work of the chansonnier. The long silence in his career was interrupted by the CD "There's Still Gunpowder!", released in 2015, and the compilation "The Very Best", released in 2016, which included the best compositions of Valery Kuras.
Next was the album "Samoy Lyubimaya", created together with Alexander Morozov in 2009, and in 2011 - under the title "Grand collection".
The most recent album in the singer's discography is "Men's Stories", which united the best table songs and became a leader among the albums in a similar musical genre.
