Alma-Sofia Miettinen, known as ALMA, is a Finnish singer and songwriter. She was born on January 17, 1996 in Kuopio, Finland. In 2013, at the age of 17, ALMA auditioned for the seventh season of Finnish Idol, where she gained success with her live performances and placed fifth. She became famous in 2015 when she recorded the single “Muuta ku mä” together with the band Sini Sabotage. In March 2016, ALMA signed with Universal Music and released her first single “Karma” in June. The song reached number 5 on the Finnish Singles Chart. On October 28, 2016, she released her debut album “Dye My Hair”. In 2017, ALMA released the single “Chasing Highs”, which repeated the success and also reached the top 20 in Germany and the UK. In 2018, the mini-album “Heavy Rules” was released, which reached the top ten in Finland. In 2024, a documentary called “Life Should Be Beautiful” was released in Finnish cinemas, the day before Alma released a single with the same title.
