Years & Years (Years and Years) is a solo project of British singer Olly Alexander, performing in the electronica style. Previously the band consisted of lead singer and keyboardist Olly Alexander, bassist Mikey Goldworthy and Emre Türkmen on synthesizer. The music of this band is described as electropop mixed with R&B and elements of nineties house music, with major influences from bands such as Flying Lotus, Diplo, Radiohead and Jai Paul.
On March 18, 2021, the band announced that a third Years & Years album was in production. On the same day, the band announced that Goldsworthy and Turkman had stepped down as active members and that the show would continue as Alexander's solo project. The album Night Call was released on January 21, 2022 and debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart. The band formed in 2010 after Goldsworthy moved to the U.K. from Australia and met Turkman online. Alexander soon joined the guys as lead vocalist after Goldworthy heard him sing in the shower. Initially the band consisted of five people, including Noel Leeman, Olivier Subria and Dylan Bell. Leeman left the band in 2013. Dylan left the band on March 16, 2018.
