Queen is an iconic British rock band that achieved widespread fame in the mid-1970s and is one of the most successful bands in the history of rock music. The band was formed in 1970. The main lineup from 1970 to 1991: Brian May (born July 19, 1947, London), Freddie Mercury (birth name Farrukh Bulsara). ફારુખ બલસારા); born on 5 September 1946 in Zanzibar, Zanzibar - 24 November 1991 in Kensington, Greater London; Roger Meddows Taylor (26 July 1949 in Kings Lynn, Norfolk) and John Richard Deacon (born 19 August 1951 in Leicester). The band has released fifteen studio albums, five live albums and numerous compilations. Eighteen Queen hits have topped the charts in various countries. Each member of the band is the author of at least one hit that has reached the top of the British chart. The concert performances of the band were also recognized as one of the brightest and most significant in the history of rock. Despite the fact that the band continued their activity, 1991 was the last year of Queen's actual existence. After the death of Queen vocalist Freddie Mercury in 1991, the band virtually ceased studio activities. In 2004, Brian May and Roger Taylor revived the band, launching a collaborative project called Queen+, performing with guest vocalists both tried-and-true hits and new material. The band's first frontman on this project was blues singer Paul Rogers, with whom they recorded a new studio album, The Cosmos Rocks, which received mixed reviews from fans and critics. Since 2011 the band has been performing with Adam Lambert under the name "Queen + Adam Lambert".
