American singer and actress. She first gained recognition for her leading role in the Disney Channel comedy series Girl Meets World (2014–2017) and the Disney Channel Original Movie Adventures in Babysitting (2016). Carpenter signed with Hollywood Records and released her debut single "Can't Blame a Girl for Trying" and EP of the same name in 2014. Her debut studio album, Eyes Wide Open, was released in 2015. She followed it with the studio albums Evolution (2016), Singular: Act I (2018) and Singular: Act II (2019), which were supported by singles such as "Thumbs" and "Why". Her collaboration with Norwegian DJ Alan Walker, "On My Way", charted in various countries and reached number seven on the US Dance Club Songs. Moving to Island Records in 2021, Carpenter released the single "Skin", her first song to chart on the US Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 48. In 2022, she released her fifth studio album, Emails I Can't Send (2022), which peaked at number 23 on the Billboard 200, marking Carpenter's highest-charting album in the US, and she embarked on a concert tour of the same name to support the album. "Nonsense" and "Feather", two singles from Emails I Can't Send, peaked at numbers 56 and 37 on the Hot 100, respectively, with the latter marking Carpenter's first-ever top-40 entry on the chart. Carpenter also opened for Taylor Swift at the Eras Tour and released the Christmas EP Fruitcake in 2023.
