A-ha is a Norwegian musical group, founded in 1982 in Oslo and working in the electro-pop style, which emerged at the turn of the New Wave. A-ha's music is characterized by a graphic, cold ("Scandinavian") style, synthesizer and guitar sounds, and an expressive ballad melody. Composition: Morten Harket (born September 14, 1959) - vocals, guitar, lyrics, music. Paul Waaktaar-Savoy (born September 6, 1961) - guitar, drums, backing vocals, lyrics, music. Magne Furuholmen (born November 1, 1962) - keyboards, guitar, backing vocals, lyrics, music. a-ha have sold over 80 million copies of their albums and 15 million singles worldwide. The band has won numerous awards from the MTV Video Music Awards, with their music video for "Take On Me" winning nominations such as: "Best Debutante Video," "Best Conceptual Video," "Best Production," "Most Experimental Video," "Best Special Effects," and "Viewer's Choice." On October 15, 2009, it was officially announced that the band was scheduled to break up at the end of the "Ending on a high note" tour, December 1-3, 2010. In December 2014, the official a-ha website announced that the band would reunite for a time and perform at the Rock in Rio festival in September 2015, marking the 30th anniversary of the release of the band's first album Hunting High And Low (1985). In April 2016, Morten Harket stated that the band would break up for good after a concert in Bergen on May 7, 2016. However, in December 2016, the band announced that in 2018 they were going to go on an acoustic tour, record an album of appropriate sound and make a live video, the release of which is scheduled for November 2017. The album, titled "Summer Solstice (MTV Unplugged)," was released on October 6, 2017. The Norwegian band a-ha's eleventh studio album, True North, was released on October 21, 2022, by RCA and Sony Music.
