"Modern Talking (1984-1987, 1998-2003) was a German Eurodisco band consisting of lead vocalist Thomas Anders (real name Bernd Weidung), born on March 1, 1963 in Münstermayfeld, Germany. March 1, 1963, Münstermeifeld, FRG) and producer Dieter Günter Bohlen (born February 7, 1954, Bern, Lower Saxony, FRG). It was formed in Hamburg in 1984. It is one of the most successful bands in the history of pop music and the most successful of all the bands formed in Germany: the group's recordings have sold over 200 million copies worldwide. The duo's singles topped the charts from the mid-1980s until the early 2000s. Almost all of the group's lyrics were written by Dieter Bohlen, and the authorship belongs to him alone. During the band's existence more than 200 million sound carriers have been sold worldwide. On June 21, 2003, the duo's farewell concert took place under the open skies of Berlin.
