Yaroslav Yuryevich Dronov (born November 22, 1991 in Novomoskovsk ), also known by his stage name Shaman, is a Russian singer-songwriter. Dronow appeared on Factor A (the Russian version of The X Factor ) in 2013 and the Russian version of The Voice in 2014 (placed 2nd). Dronow adopted the stage name Shaman in 2020. Dronow is now one of Vladimir Putin's favorites. It is difficult to determine whether the artist was shaped into a figurehead over a long period of time or whether he himself served Putin's propaganda with his forced patriotism. Dronow's single “Мой бой” (“Mein Kampf”) which, given his martial-looking stage outfits, has earned the singer the accusation of spreading Nazi propaganda. As of the beginning of 2024, he has released more than 30 singles and 15 music videos. At the end of 2023, he took the 11th position in the list of the most popular performers on YouTube in Russia (221 million views for the year). From 2012 to 2016, Yaroslav was married to Marina Roschupkina, a singing teacher; they have a daughter Varvara, who lives with her mother. Since 2017, he has been married to Elena Martynova, who is 14 years older than her spouse.
