Petra Linnea Paula Marklund (Swedish: Petra Linnea Paula Marklund; September 12, 1984, Stockholm, Sweden), also known as September, is a Swedish singer, composer, songwriter, music producer and television host. Under the name September, September released her debut single "La La La La (Never Give It Up)" in 2003, which was included on her first album titled September, released in 2004.
In 2005, September's second album In Orbit was released, and the singles "Satellites" and "Cry For You" became international hits. September became the first Swedish artist in the United States (since Ace of Base) to sell more than 500,000 copies of a song, the same result as the single "Cry For You", which was given gold status.
In 2007, the third album Dancing Shoes was released, and the songs "Can't Get Over", "Until I Die", "Because I Love You" also became successful outside Sweden.
In the fall of 2010 September took part in the Swedish music show "Så mycket bättre", where she presented her dance version of the Swedish rap song "Mikrofonkåt" by Petter, which became number one in Sweden and held this result for 11 weeks in a row. Participation in the show brought great success in her native country, after which the singer will leave the dance scene behind and focus on her career inside Sweden.
Love CPR's last English-language album under the name September was released in 2011 and debuted with gold sales status at number one in Sweden, later achieving double platinum status. The singles "Me & My Microphone" (English version of "Mikrofonkåt") and "Party in My Head" had success on American radio, while "Something's Going On" became the most prominent song from the album on Russian radio stations.
In 2012, the singer released her first Swedish-language album Inferno under her own name Petra Marklund. The single "Händerna mot himlen" became a resounding hit in Sweden, having 6 platinum statuses to date.
In 2014 and 2015, Petra Marklund hosts the music TV program Allsång på Skansen, which takes place during the summer in Stockholm.
In 2015, the second Swedish-language album Ensam inte stark is released.
