Matilda

After their latest single “Robot Writes A Love Song”, million streaming Canadian rock band PUP are back with the plaintive and anthemic new single “Matilda”, a classic galloping PUP shout-along recrimination-fest.
Matilda is the name of singer & guitarist Stefan Babcock’s favorite guitar that was gifted by a friend after Stefan accidentally broke the only guitar he owned in the middle of a tour. As the band grew, he got another guitar and played Matilda less and less – but on this song, she got one last appearance in during the bridge, and gave Stefan his most joyful and cathartic moment in the entire making of this record.
