Thwarted Plans

On July 28, neo-pop artist and songwriter HOLLYFLAME released a deeply personal release. The composition about the musician's life journey, his dreams and losses has been given the telling title "Thwarted Plans".

"Thwarted Plans" is a lightweight, rebellious neo-pop with a minimalistic sound. It's based on an upbeat acoustic guitar and electronic beats, which HOLLYFLAME diversified with a whole range of different sounds recorded by the artist himself into the microphone: rubber gloves slapping, slapping feet, yelling and screaming. The carefree musical accompaniment contrasts with the melancholic lyrics, in which the protagonist reminisces about his dreams that didn't come true and indulges in self-reflection, trying to understand why his life turned out the way it did.

"As I was writing the song, I realized that it completely reflects my state of life at the time I moved to Moscow, unconsciously trying to find the right path for myself," HOLLYFLAME shares. - I didn't make any plans and was going with the flow, which often led me to a dead end, from which I got out - and so on in a circle, until I realized what exactly I wanted and who I am for myself".

Belarusian musician HOLLYFLAME can be called a real DIY-artist: everything that concerns his creative work, the performer creates exclusively with his own hands: - he writes music and lyrics to it himself, videotapes tracks himself. The first fame came to the performer in 2020 with the release of his debut album "Watch the Fire Burn", followed by other bright releases: "Bird", "Wind of Change", "Spit", "Quit Smoking". Last year the musician finished with a triumph on the online project PRO PESNI, becoming the winner of the second season, and 2023 HOLLYFLAME opened the year with the release of the long-awaited for fans EP "Make Me Sad". In the spring, the artist presented a collaboration with singer GUMA "Lonely" and a solo song "We will not meet, we will not fall in love", and in the summer became a participant of the largest music festival in the country VK Fest.
