The joint track will become the lead single of the album ‘Your Poems, My Notes Pt.2’, a collection of songs created as part of the cult cultural project of the same name by Artem Pyvovarov, which revives and popularises Ukrainian poetry in songs.
Artem Pivovarov: ‘I wrote the song ‘No One Loved Me Like This’ before the launch of the ‘Your Poems, My Notes’ project. It had many interpretations and was waiting for its time and the artist with whom it would sound organic. I'm grateful to Max for agreeing to my proposal, which made the song come out exactly as it did. I hope that when millions of hearts listen to and watch ‘No One Loved Me Like This’, they will feel the love we put into this work.’
Max Barskih: ‘I am very impressed by Artem's project ‘Your Poems, My Notes’, so I gladly accepted the invitation to create something significant and poignant together, which is what creativity is all about. I believe that Sosiura's poetry, which became the basis of our song, embraces every Ukrainian, it is in our DNA. ‘No One Loved Like This’ should sound like a song today and become a dedication to all Ukrainian women.’
Alan Badoev: ‘Great Ukrainian classical poetry should inspire modern Ukrainians. This goal is already clear to many people, and of course, good music brings it closer for many people both in Ukraine and abroad. This time, Artem, Max, and I decided to create an audiovisual dedication to modern Ukrainian women. Sosyura's words in this piece of music celebrate love for women. Today, a Ukrainian woman is a mother waiting for her son or daughter to come home from the frontline; a wife fighting for the rights of her military husband; a volunteer who, risking her life, collects and brings everything she needs to places where her life is often cut short; a warrior who sometimes fights for freedom side by side with her loved one because she can't live without them.
The audiovisual work No One Loved Like This is a generalised portrait of a modern Ukrainian woman who knows how to love madly despite the war and do anything for love. The main character in the new video by Artem Pivovarov and Max Barskykh is played by the extraordinary Ukrainian actress Solomiya Kyrylova.
