Daddy Yankee (Ramon Luis Ayala Rodriguez, born February 3, 1977 in San Juan, Puerto Rico) is a performer, rapper, actor, songwriter, and producer. He works in the genre of rap, pop latino, dancehall, hip-hop, and reggaeton. In 2004, Daddy released the single "Gasolina", which became an international hit and earned the artist the title of the best-selling Latin music direction. In 2006, the performer was included in Time magazine's list of the 100 most influential people. In 2017, Daddy recorded the single "Despacito" together with singer Luis Fonsi. The track reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100, and the video for the song became the most viewed on YouTube, racking up more than a billion views. On Spotify, Yankee was named World's Most Popular Artist of the Year. Daddy is the winner of the MTV Video Music Awards, two Billboard Music Awards, 14 Billboard Latin Music Awards, eight Lo Nuestro Awards, five Latin Grammy Awards and two Latin American Music Awards.
