Luis Fonsi (Luis Alfonso Rodriguez López-Sepero, born April 15, 1978 in San Juan, Puerto Rico) is a Latin American performer, songwriter, and actor. In 1998, Luis presented the solo album Comenzaré, which was a great success in Latin America. In 2000 Luis recorded a joint single with Cristina Aguilera for her album Mi Reflejo. The single "Quien te Dijo Eso?" which the singer recorded in 2002 became a hit and reached the top of the charts. The sixth studio album Paso a Paso included the single "Nada es Para Siempre", which reached number one on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs. In 2014, Fonsi released three albums that received platinum and gold certifications. The single "Aquí Estoy Yo" from the album Palabras del Silencio won the Latin Grammy for Best Song of 2009. In 2017, Luis recorded the single "Despacito" with singer Daddy Yankee, which garnered 6.7 billion views on YouTube in six months. The track was at number one on the charts in over 35 countries for a long time. After that, Luis recorded the single "Échame La Culpa" with singer Demi Lovato. The video for the song gained a billion views on YouTube.
