Jung Ho-seok (kore 정호석, Chinese 鄭號錫; born February 18, 1994, in Gwangju, South Korea) is a South Korean rapper, singer, songwriter, dancer, and music producer. He made his debut as a member of the South Korean boy band BTS in 2013.
His first solo mixtape, "Hope Worldruen," was released in 2018 and reached the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, making J-Hope the only Korean solo artist ever to reach such high positions on that chart. In 2019, his single "Chicken Noodle Soupruen," featuring singer Becky G, debuted at number 81. In 2022, j-hope released his debut studio album, Jack in the Boxruen. In 2023, he released his single "On the Streetruen" with J. Cole.
In October 2018, along with the rest of the group, BTS received the Fifth Class Order of Cultural Merit from the President of the Republic of Korea
