Alsu Ralifovna Abramova (maiden name - Safina, born. June 27, 1983, Bugulma, Tatar ASSR, RSFSR, USSR) - Russian singer, broadcaster and actress. Honored Artist of the Russian Federation (2018), Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan (2000), People's Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan (2010), People's Artist of the Republic of Bashkortostan (2019). Known mononymously as Alsu. UNESCO Artist for Peace (2011). Member of the International Union of Variety Artists (Creative Union), Moscow. The representative of Russia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2000 in Stockholm, where she took second place, losing to the Danish duo Olsen Brothers. Father - Ralif Safin (born January 6, 1954, Bashkir by nationality), entrepreneur, former vice-president of the oil company "Lukoil," politician, member of the Federation Council of the Russian Federal Assembly from the Altai Republic. Her mother is Raziya Iskhakovna Safina, an architect. Alsu has three brothers: the elder one is Ruslan (1973), the middle one is Marat (born 1977) and the younger one is Renard (1996). Alsu's musical career began in 1998, when the singer was 15 years old. Her first two singles "Winter Dream" and "Sometimes" were very successful and are still the trademark of the singer. The first music collection titled "Alsu" was released on September 15, 1999. Within the first six months more than 700,000 copies of this album were sold. In support of the album Alsu gave a number of solo performances in Russian cities in 1999 and 2000. The singer Vadim Baikov became the artistic director of her group (he stayed there until December 2005). He was also her producer in 2004-2005.
