Stromae - Paul Van Haver (born March 12, 1985, Brussels, Belgium), better known as Stromae (pronounced Stromé), is a Belgian singer, rapper, musician and songwriter.
Van Haver's last name is of Dutch origin and is pronounced Van Áver in Dutch. Stromae's stage name is a distortion of "Maestro" in French Verlan slang.
He is mostly known for his music combining hip-hop and electronic music. Stromae became widely known in 2009 for his song "Alors on danse" (from the album Cheese), which became number one in several European countries. In 2013 his second album Racine carrée was a commercial success and sold 2 million copies in France. The main singles from the album include "Papaoutai" and "Formidable.
On October 15, 2021 the first single in 8 years, "Santé" and its music video are released.
On January 9, 2022, Stromae performs a song from the "Multitude" album, "L'enfer" on TF1, and releases the music video the next day.
On March 4, 2022, he releases his third studio album "Multitude", which includes the last two singles.
