Billie Eilish has opened up about her admiration for Rihanna in a recent interview, calling the global superstar “the greatest of all time” and revealing that working with her would be a “dream come true.”
Speaking to Complex, Eilish responded to comments Rihanna made back in October, where she expressed interest in collaborating with the Birds Of A Feather singer. “I literally thought it was AI at first,” Eilish admitted. “I’ve never met Rihanna. She’s literally my idol. She’s the greatest of all time. She’s my complete dream collab. I’ve never heard from her and I’ve never had any interaction with her, so why would I have ever even thought about it? Then she said, ‘If only I could work with Billie”
Eilish also shared her surprise on social media, joking about the situation: “I was like, ‘Well, b*tch, I’ve been sitting here this whole time!’ What the f**k is she even talking about? Honestly. What do you mean, ‘If only?’ It’s, like, as if I’ve been saying, ‘No.’ Rihanna! Riri!? I’ll literally do anything you want. That’s insane”
Rihanna’s initial comments came during an interview with Access Hollywood, where she also praised artists like Tom Odell, Sufjan Stevens, Patrick Watson, and Mitski as inspirations.
The potential for a Billie-Rihanna collaboration has fans buzzing, especially as Eilish continues to dominate the music world. Her track Birds Of A Feather received critical acclaim and ranked among the top 5 most successful songs of 2024 on Spotify. With nominations for Record of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year at the 2025 Grammys, Eilish is undeniably at the top of her game.
As for Rihanna, fans continue to speculate about her music career after the 2016 release of Anti. Although she’s shifted her focus to Fenty Beauty and fashion, Rihanna hasn’t ruled out a return to music. “Music was the thing that got the attention, but God had other plans for me,” she recently said, leaving fans hopeful for new projects in the future.
Could a Billie Eilish and Rihanna collaboration be the spark that brings Rihanna back to the studio? The world is waiting.
