(G)I-DLE’s Minnie is stepping into the solo spotlight. CUBE Entertainment has confirmed that the Thai-born vocalist will release her first solo album in mid-January 2025.
“Minnie is currently preparing her first solo album with a goal of a mid-January release,” the label shared in a statement, sparking excitement among fans eager to see a new side of the singer-songwriter.
With this debut, Minnie becomes the fourth member of (G)I-DLE to pursue a solo music career, joining Soyeon, Miyeon, and Yuqi. Leader Soyeon ventured into solo projects even before the group’s formation, while Miyeon and Yuqi followed in 2021 and 2022, respectively.
This announcement comes hot on the heels of major group news. All five members of (G)I-DLE recently renewed their contracts with CUBE Entertainment, as revealed during Soyeon’s acceptance speech at the 2024 Melon Music Awards. The group later confirmed the news via a statement from the label.
Earlier this year, Yuqi released her first Korean mini-album, YUQ1, after years of success as a solo artist in China. Fans are eager to see how Minnie will bring her unique charm to her solo debut.
Meanwhile, (G)I-DLE continues to make waves as a group. Their most recent release, I Sway, dropped in July, featuring the hit title track Klaxon. The mini-album followed their January full-length album [2], which secured them the Record of the Year Grand Prize at the 2024 Melon Music Awards.
