TopHit.com, in collaboration with TopHit Spy, continues publishing the 2024 year-end music results. In the coming days, we’ll feature the stars of 2024 popular in Spain, Russia, Ukraine, Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, and Romania.
But for now, here are the TOP 10 music stars dominating UK radio and leading streaming platforms, plus the 10 most notable newcomers to the UK charts in 2024.
Taylor Swift maintained her dominance on Spotify in the UK but placed only third on radio, ceding the second spot to the rising star Sabrina Carpenter. Another newcomer from the U.S., Teddy Swims, made a remarkable entry into the UK charts this year.
The UK radio chart topper is David Guetta, who climbed three positions compared to the previous year. Unlike radio and Spotify, the UK YouTube audience demonstrated rare consistency in 2024, with the top three positions remaining unchanged from 2023: Eminem, Taylor Swift, and Ed Sheeran. Notably, there were no new artists in the YouTube UK TOP 10.
The musical content of British radio and Spotify is overwhelmingly English-language, with 99% of top hits performed in English. However, on YouTube, only 88% of the top tracks are in English. Hindi accounts for 3% of YouTube’s top hits, while Romanian represents 2%.
