Snoop Dogg has just unveiled his latest single, “Another Part of Me,” a collaboration with Sting that weaves in the unmistakable essence of The Police.
The track, lifted from Snoop’s highly anticipated upcoming album Missionary, samples the iconic guitar riff from “Message In A Bottle” and finds the rap legend experimenting with Auto-Tuned melodies alongside his signature laid-back flow. Sting, who contributes both vocals and guitar, recently expressed his admiration for the unexpected fusion, calling Snoop’s singing a “revelation.”
Produced entirely by Dr. Dre, Missionary is slated for release on December 13, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of Snoop’s groundbreaking debut, Doggystyle. Fans can expect appearances from Eminem, 50 Cent, Method Man, Jelly Roll, and even posthumous contributions from Tom Petty.
Dre has described the project as a testament to both his and Snoop’s evolution: “This one’s gonna show a different level of maturity. I feel like this is some of the best music I’ve done in my career.”
The duo’s chemistry, honed over decades, extends beyond the studio. “Snoop, he’s the superstar. I’m the co-star when we get on stage,” Dre told Entertainment Tonight. “It’s different when we’re in the studio, you know? I’m the captain when we’re in the studio, but when we go outside, Snoop is the guy.”
With Missionary, Snoop and Dre are poised to remind the world why they remain a force to be reckoned with in music, blending nostalgia with a fresh edge.
