Taylor Swift has once again solidified her reign in pop music, as her eleventh studio album, The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology, has been crowned the most streamed album of 2024 on Apple Music. The announcement was part of Apple Music Replay, the platform’s annual deep dive into its users’ listening habits.
Swift also secured the title of most streamed artist of the year, proving her unmatched connection with fans.
In an Instagram Story shared yesterday (December 3), Swift expressed her excitement, writing:
“Ahhhhhh thank you for listening to my music and TTPD so much!!!! You, the fans, made The Tortured Poets Department the TOP STREAMED ALBUM of the Year on @applemusic!!! You guys snagged me that Top Streamed Artist spot too.”
Despite Swift’s dominance, the most played track on the platform went to Kendrick Lamar’s explosive party anthem Not Like Us.
Earlier this year, The Tortured Poets Department broke records as the highest-selling album in the US during the first half of 2024, with 4.66 million equivalent album units. It also became the first album by a female artist to spend 12 consecutive weeks atop the Billboard 200 chart.
The album’s standout track, But Daddy I Love Him, was celebrated by critics, including being named one of NME’s 50 best songs of 2024. A review praised the song as a “satirical, self-aware, and poetic return to Taylor’s country storytelling roots.”
Swift’s Eras Tour, which has dominated headlines and set records of its own, is also nearing its grand finale. Reflecting on the tour’s emotional journey, Swift recently shared:
“Our next city will be the last one of The Eras Tour... the closing of the most extraordinary chapter of my life so far.”
