Oli Sykes of Bring Me The Horizon has revealed exciting plans for the band’s future, hinting at new music and a “director’s cut” version of their latest album, Post Human: Nex Gen.
The Sheffield rock titans were recently announced as part of the 2025 Reading & Leeds lineup, joining headliners Chappell Roan, Travis Scott, and Hozier. This marks BMTH’s second time as headliners, with the band promising their most spectacular show yet.
“We are beyond excited to be returning to Reading & Leeds for our first fully fledged headline slot,” Sykes said. “We are going to bring hands down the greatest show of our careers. It’s going to be our only UK performance next year and the final European show of the NEX GEN campaign before the band take time away, so if you want to see BMTH next year, this truly is your only chance. Can’t wait.”
Their critically acclaimed album Post Human: Nex Gen has been a standout, earning a spot on NME’s Best Albums of 2024 list. Despite challenges, including lineup changes and delays, the record has been celebrated for its bold, futuristic sound.
In a recent chat with Kerrang!, Sykes shared that there’s more to come: “We wrote so much for NeX GEn, there’s so many cool songs that are kicking about, and I think the world would love to hear them. I would love to get out maybe a ‘director’s cut’ version of the record or something. But I’m trying to put less pressure on myself, and not promise anything! After the last record it felt like people were gonna start hunting me down and taking me for ransom. But I’m sure there’ll be new music and concerts and all that next year.”
With their star-studded festival performance and the promise of unreleased gems, 2025 is shaping up to be another defining year for BMTH.
