Who says rock can’t be for kids? Alice Cooper, his daughter Calico, and guitar legend Slash have joined forces on ‘Freewheelin’ — a high-octane, bike-riding anthem for the young (and young at heart).
The track, powered by Cooper’s unmistakable energy, captures the joy of freedom on two wheels. “I’m freewheelin’ on my new bike / It’s the best thing that I like,” sing Alice and Calico, their voices full of youthful exuberance. As the song reaches its peak, Slash delivers a searing solo, proving rock’s edge is timeless, no matter the audience.
‘Freewheelin’’ is part of the Grammy-nominated album Solid Rock Revival, a collaborative project under the Rock for Children initiative. Alongside the Coopers, the album boasts contributions from Judas Priest’s Rob Halford, Daryl “DMC” McDaniels of Run DMC, and more. Proceeds from the album go toward Alice Cooper’s Solid Rock Teen Centers, which offer free programs in music, dance, and arts to teens aged 12-20.
Reacting to the Grammy nod, Cooper told the Arizona Republic: “Would it not be the craziest thing for Alice Cooper to get a Grammy for children’s music?” He added, “ It’s just a really cool thing for kids to see success happen, just the smallest seed growing into something that big. Sometimes the things you do for the fun of it turn out really, really good.”
Alice isn’t slowing down anytime soon. He’s also gearing up to open for My Chemical Romance’s 2025 stadium tour, proving that rock legends never rest — even when they’re writing kids' anthems.
