Lana Del Rey and Quavo have just given fans a taste of their upcoming collaboration, "Tough," and it's already creating a buzz. Today (June 20), the Migos rapper shared a snippet of the track on Instagram, along with a quirky photo of the duo posing with finger guns outside an undisclosed farm.
In the snippet, Lana and Quavo harmonize: “Tough like the scarf on a pair of old leather boots / Like the blue-collar, red-dirt attitude / Like a .38 made out of brass / Tough like the stuff in my grandpa’s glass / Life’s gonna do what it does/ Sure as the good lord’s up above / Cut like a diamond shining in the rough, tough.”
While there's no official release date for "Tough" yet, Quavo has been hinting at this collaboration since early May. Back then, he posted a picture with Lana, giving fans a sneak peek with just the instrumental and his signature adlibs.
Whether "Tough" will appear on Lana's forthcoming country album "Lasso" or as part of a larger Quavo project remains a mystery. However, what’s clear is that this unexpected duo is bringing something fresh to the table.
Earlier this year, Lana announced "Lasso," a country album that promises to showcase a different side of her musical prowess. In an interview with NME, she hinted that the album’s lyrics might be lighter than her recent work, leaning towards a more melodic, American Songbook vibe.
As if this weren’t enough, Lana Del Rey is set to headline Reading & Leeds 2024 over the August bank holiday (23-25). She'll be taking the stage at Reading on August 24 and Leeds on August 25, undoubtedly treating fans to both classic hits and new surprises.
