In a surprise twist that left fans screaming for more, Hozier brought out none other than the ginger maestro himself, Ed Sheeran, during his Pinkpop 2024 set. The duo set the stage on fire with a soulful rendition of Hozier’s classic ‘Work Song’, proving once again that music knows no boundaries when these two talents collide.
Hozier, known for his powerhouse collaborations, didn’t stop there. Earlier this year, he wowed New York City alongside Lucy Dacus with ‘I, Carrion (Icarian)’, and last year he joined forces with indie darlings Dacus, Julien Baker, and Phoebe Bridgers at a Boygenius show in Boston. Clearly, Hozier’s knack for musical partnerships is as legendary as his soul-stirring lyrics.
But the surprises didn’t end with Hozier and Sheeran. Ever the shape-shifter, Sheeran also made headlines by teaming up with Limp Bizkit for a cover of The Who’s ‘Behind Blue Eyes’ at the same festival. Talk about crossing genres!
Meanwhile, in another corner of the musical universe, Royal Blood took the reins and put their own spin on Hozier’s "Eat Your Young" for BBC Radio One’s Live Lounge, proving that Hozier’s influence spans far and wide.
Reflecting on his career, Hozier recently became the first Irish artist since Sinead O’Connor to top the Billboard Singles Chart with "Too Sweet," a testament to his enduring appeal and the universal resonance of his music.
