Oasis have officially confirmed that Richard Ashcroft will join them as a special guest for their highly anticipated 2025 UK and Ireland reunion tour. The former Verve frontman is set to open for the Britpop giants at each date of the massive summer tour, which includes an impressive seven-night run at London’s Wembley Stadium and five shows at Manchester’s Heaton Park.
Ashcroft’s inclusion follows rumors that he would be joining the Gallagher brothers on the road for their Oasis Live ’25 tour. In his statement, Ashcroft expressed excitement, saying, “As a fan from day one, I was buzzing for many reasons when the news of Oasis’ return was announced. I can say with no exaggeration that the songwriting talent of Noel and Liam’s pure spirit as a lead singer helped to inspire me to create some of my best work. It was the perfection of ‘Live Forever’ that forced me to try and write my own.”
With a long history of collaborations and mutual admiration between Ashcroft and the Gallaghers, this reunion feels like a full-circle moment. From being the inspiration behind Oasis’ ‘Cast No Shadow’ to providing backing vocals on ‘All Around The World,’ Ashcroft’s connection to the band runs deep. His upcoming opening slots mark another chapter in their intertwined legacies.
Ashcroft’s statement was filled with both nostalgia and excitement for what’s to come: “They dared to be great, made the dreams we had real, and now it’s time to create more memories. See you next summer.”
Details about additional support acts are expected to be revealed soon. The 2025 UK and Ireland shows will be Oasis’ only European dates before they head out on a worldwide tour, with gigs already confirmed in North America, Mexico, and Australia.
