Lady Gaga is back in the spotlight with the announcement of her new single, ‘Disease,’ set to drop this Friday (October 25). The pop icon confirmed the news through a series of cryptic clues scattered across various websites, leaving fans piecing together lyrics and URLs.
The track, which is part of her highly anticipated seventh studio album, ‘LG7,’ due in February 2025, comes with a haunting lyric tease: “I could play the doctor” and “I can cure your disease.” Gaga’s loyal fanbase has been following the trail of lyrics across a collection of websites, with each line revealing more of the upcoming single’s mystery. The final clue lands on cureyourdisease.com, which features the same ‘Disease’ logo and the October 25 release date.
In true Gaga fashion, she first teased the track last week by subtly hiding the title in her Spotify discography. Songs from each of her seven albums had one letter lowercased, which when combined spelled out “disease.” She also curated a playlist titled ‘.com’ that spelled out “Gaga disease” through song titles, further amping up the excitement.
While details about ‘Disease’ and the forthcoming album remain under wraps, Gaga hinted in an interview with Rolling Stone that the new album will be nothing like 2020’s Chromatica. Describing the project as "unhinged," she said, “It’s a completely different record. What I would say is, it’s all for me.” She also shared that she’s thrilled about not having to adhere to traditional album eras, allowing her to explore multiple themes and moods simultaneously.
Earlier this year, Gaga released Harlequin, the companion album to her film Joker: Folie à Deux. Fans are also still buzzing over her August collaboration with Bruno Mars, ‘Die With A Smile,’ and anticipation for LG7 is reaching fever pitch as she returns to her pop roots with a fresh, bold sound.
