Avenged Sevenfold Launches a Digital Museum in Fortnite

Avenged Sevenfold is taking a step into the virtual world as part of their 25th anniversary celebrations with a "digital museum" in Fortnite. The iconic metal band, formed in 1999, has teamed up with the gaming platform to create an immersive experience that honors their storied career.

Described as a “virtual gallery, experience, and escape room,” the digital museum offers fans an interactive journey through the band’s history, complete with exclusive Avenged Sevenfold recordings, Easter eggs, and artwork. For gamers and non-gamers alike, it’s an opportunity to explore the different eras of the band while solving puzzles and unlocking hidden treasures.

"We wanted to mark the occasion of our 25th anniversary by not just looking back, but also forward," the band said in a statement. "We wanted to do something to mark the occasion of our vast history by not just looking backwards but also forward. We started throwing around the idea of a gallery or museum of sorts to display art and eras of the band, but it was important to us to reach more people virtually. We hope you enjoy taking a trip down memory lane with us."

In addition to the museum, the band’s track "Nightmare" has been added to the Fortnite Festival, further cementing their presence in the game. Fans can access the Avenged Sevenfold Fortnite Museum by entering island code 5592-6865-3961.

Next year also marks major anniversaries for the band’s breakout albums ‘City Of Evil’ (20th anniversary) and ‘Nightmare’ (15th anniversary). While celebrating their past achievements, the band remains focused on the future. Guitarist Zacky Vengeance noted, "I never want to be a nostalgia act. I’ve always wanted to be as proud of whatever we put out today as I was when we put out those albums, but I’m totally cool with celebrating those albums because it was such a great place and time."

This isn’t Avenged Sevenfold’s first venture into gaming. In 2014, they launched the Hail To The King: Deathbat dungeon crawler, and they’re currently working on a new social hub in Sandbox, bringing fans even more ways to engage with their world.
