The 2024 BET Hip-Hop Awards wrapped up last night (October 15), with Kendrick Lamar and Nicki Minaj emerging as the night’s biggest stars. The ceremony, hosted by Fat Joe for the third year in a row, was pre-taped in Las Vegas on October 8 and saw some of hip-hop’s brightest talents competing for top honors.
Kendrick Lamar, who was nominated in 11 categories, stole the show with eight wins, largely thanks to his hard-hitting track ‘Not Like Us’ and his standout feature on Metro Boomin’s ‘Like That’. Lamar took home major awards, including Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Music Video of the Year, and Lyricist of the Year. Despite being one of the night’s most-nominated artists with 12 nods, Megan Thee Stallion walked away empty-handed.
Nicki Minaj also had a big night, securing the coveted Album of the Year award for Pink Friday 2, continuing her reign as one of hip-hop’s most influential figures.
Rising star Sexyy Red was recognized as Breakthrough Artist, while the UK’s Ghetts won Best International Flow, further highlighting the global reach of hip-hop culture.
The 2024 BET Hip-Hop Awards once again demonstrated the dynamic and evolving landscape of rap, with seasoned legends and fresh faces all making their mark.
