Korn treated fans to a special surprise at their Los Angeles show on October 5, celebrating the 30th anniversary of their iconic 1994 self-titled debut. In an unforgettable moment, Evanescence's powerhouse vocalist Amy Lee took the stage to perform a hauntingly intense rendition of the band’s classic hit, "Freak On A Leash."
Performing at LA’s BMO Stadium, Korn's set featured 20 tracks, but the true highlight came during their final song. Lee, whose band Evanescence had opened for the evening alongside acts like Gojira, Scars On Broadway, and Spiritbox, appeared midway through "Freak On A Leash," harmonizing with Korn frontman Jonathan Davis. Her ethereal vocals perfectly complemented Davis’ gritty delivery, adding a fresh dynamic to one of nu-metal's most iconic tracks from their 1998 album Follow The Leader.
Korn’s North American headline tour continues, with upcoming dates in Portland, Tacoma, and beyond, before heading to Australia in December. The tour has also seen them dust off fan favorites, like the deep cut "Hey Daddy," played live for the first time in 25 years.
Fans of the band have even more to look forward to, as new Korn music is expected to drop in 2024. Guitarist Brian 'Head' Welch recently teased, "Yeah, new music coming out next year. We’re kind of in hiding right now, just doing our own thing." Their most recent album, Requiem, was released in 2022, and the band has already hinted that they’ve been working on its follow-up.
