It’s official: Sir Rod Stewart will take on Glastonbury Festival’s iconic Legend Slot in 2025. The announcement was confirmed via the festival’s social media channels, with Stewart set to perform on the Pyramid Stage on Sunday, June 29.
The honor places Stewart among the ranks of previous legends like Kylie Minogue, Dolly Parton, and Diana Ross. This will be his first return to Worthy Farm since headlining the festival back in 2002, where he shared the spotlight with Coldplay and Stereophonics.
Expressing his excitement, Stewart said, “I’m absolutely thrilled to announce that I’ll be playing Glastonbury 2025! After all these years, I’m proud and ready and more than able to take the stage again to pleasure and titillate my friends at Glastonbury in June. I’ll see you there!.”
Emily Eavis, co-organizer of the festival, also shared her thoughts: “Bringing Sir Rod Stewart back for the Sunday afternoon slot on the Pyramid stage is everything we could wish for. What a way to bow out with the final legends slot before we take a fallow year. We cannot wait!.”
The announcement comes at a pivotal moment in Stewart’s career. The rock icon recently revealed plans to scale down large-scale tours after his current run. However, retirement isn’t on the table yet. “I love what I do, and I’m fit as a fiddle,” the 79-year-old joked, adding that he might shift to smaller, more intimate venues for future performances.
While the first batch of Glastonbury tickets sold out in record time earlier this month, fans still have a chance to secure their spot during the spring resale. Until then, the festival-goers eagerly await the full lineup, which is expected to be revealed in March.
Rod Stewart’s announcement is just the beginning of what’s shaping up to be another legendary Glastonbury before the festival takes its well-earned break in 2026.
