Pharrell Williams’ LEGO Biopic ‘Piece by Piece’ to Feature Daft Punk Cameo

Pharrell Williams is taking fans on a journey through his extraordinary life and career in his new LEGO biopic, Piece by Piece. The film, directed by Oscar-winner Morgan Neville, is set to hit U.S. theaters on October 11, with a UK release following on November 8.

The movie offers an intimate look at the highs and lows of Williams’ life, chronicling his rise in the music industry through the colorful lens of LEGO animation. In addition to narrating his own story, Williams has enlisted some of his most famous collaborators to make cameo appearances, including Jay Z, Gwen Stefani, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, Justin Timberlake, and more.

Fans were thrilled when the official movie poster dropped this weekend, revealing that French electronic duo Daft Punk, who collaborated with Williams on the 2013 smash hit “Get Lucky,” will also make an appearance.

Piece by Piece had its world premiere at the Telluride Film Festival this weekend, where it was met with high anticipation. Speaking with NME earlier this year, Williams described the making of the movie as an “amazing experience of history,” and praised Neville’s ability to vividly capture his life’s story “brick by brick, piece by piece.”

Neville, known for his masterful storytelling in documentaries about icons like Steve Martin and Mickey Mouse, shared that getting Williams’ celebrity friends on board was an easy task. “They are all a part of Pharrell’s story, but they’re not acting,” he explained, emphasizing the authenticity of the film.

With a mix of documentary footage, biopic elements, animation, and music, Piece by Piece promises to be a unique and vibrant portrayal of one of the music industry’s most influential figures.
