On September 13th, TopHit dropped the Top Spotify Hits Global Weekly Chart for the week ending September 12, 2024.
The Spotify Global Weekly Chart top new releases are:
In 6th place are the legends of the alternative rock scene, Linkin Park, making an unexpected (and highly controversial) comeback with new vocalist Emily Armstrong. While Chester Bennington is irreplaceable, their new single The Emptiness Machine managed to garner an impressive 33 million streams in a week.
At 14th place is an impactful collaboration between American rapper Megan Thee Stallion and South Korean singer RM, a member of BTS. RM, by the way, has previously recorded notable features with artists like Lil Nas X and Fall Out Boy. Their track Neva Play has attracted over 19 million streams.
And here’s how the top five most spun tracks on the Global Spotify are stacking up today:
1. Die With A Smile - Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars
2. Birds Of A Feather - Billie Eilish
3. Taste - Sabrina Carpenter
5. Espresso - Sabrina Carpenter
Last week, 81% of tracks on the air were in English, 15% in Spanish, with Pop, Power Pop, Alternative and Singer/Songwriter reigning as the most popular genres.
