Hayley Williams Confirms Paramore Are Already Working on New Music

Exciting news for Paramore fans! Hayley Williams has revealed that the band is already back in the studio, working on new sounds that could shape their follow-up to 2023’s This Is Why.

In a recent interview with Dork, Williams shared that before embarking on their tour with Taylor Swift, the band recorded demos that “really surprised” her. These new tracks are reportedly inspired by the Björk-fronted band, The Sugarcubes, offering a fresh direction for Paramore’s evolving sound.

During their downtime on tour, the band also spent time in Clouds Hill studio in Hamburg, Germany. According to Williams, they began experimenting with a different vibe there, describing it as being “on the other side of the tracks” from what they had been working on at home. “But that excites me,” she added, showing her enthusiasm for this creative shift.

Aside from Paramore’s new material, Williams hinted that another solo album might be in the works, following up on her well-received projects Petals for Armor (2020) and Flowers for Vases/Descansos (2021). Despite her passion for the band, Williams expressed that she’s not done with solo work either. “I don’t feel done with that at all,” she said.

In other Paramore news, the band recently teamed up with designer Bug Girl for a special merch collaboration, benefiting Medical Aid for Palestinians. The partnership came about after Williams was spotted wearing one of Bug Girl’s custom ‘feminine rage’ t-shirts during Paramore's stint as the opening act for Taylor Swift’s Eras tour.

Reflecting on their time with Swift, Paramore shared a heartfelt message on social media, saying, “Thank you for asking us to be a part of such an incredible moment in your life and career. We loved playing for the Swifties and watching you tell your life story through this show. Congrats on this giant, history-making tour. We love you!”
