Donald Trump Mistakes Reggaeton Star Nicky Jam for a Woman

In an eyebrow-raising moment at a Las Vegas rally on September 13, Donald Trump introduced reggaeton sensation Nicky Jam with a bit of a mix-up. The former president referred to the 43-year-old singer as a “hot” woman before realizing his mistake as Jam approached the stage.

“Latin music superstar Nicky Jam. Do you know Nicky? She’s hot. Where is Nicky?” Trump said to the crowd, visibly surprised when Jam himself appeared. “Oh look, come here!” Trump corrected quickly, turning to the audience and adding, “I’m glad he came up.”

Despite the blunder, Nicky Jam took it in stride, smiling as he delivered a supportive message to Trump. “It’s an honor to meet you, Mr. President. People that come from where I come from, they don’t meet the president. So I’m lucky,” he said. “We need you back. We need you to be the president again.”

Jam even poked fun at the situation on social media afterward, sharing a picture with Trump on Instagram with a playful caption in Spanish: “Nicky Jam la potra la bichota,” which translates to “Nicky Jam is a fierce woman,” accompanied by laughing emojis.

This wasn’t the only unexpected moment in Trump’s campaign recently. The former president’s team launched a new campaign t-shirt design that closely mirrors the aesthetic of Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras’ tour merch. The shirt features a grid of photos of Trump, styled similarly to Swift’s iconic tour shirts, and is selling for $36.

In a cheeky nod to Swift’s fanbase, Trump’s campaign tweeted, calling on “all Swifties for Trump” to grab their “Trump Era shirt today.” The timing of the merch launch was notable, coming just days after Swift endorsed Kamala Harris in the upcoming presidential race.

Trump didn’t shy away from addressing Swift’s political leanings either. On Fox & Friends, he commented on her endorsement of Harris: “I was not a Taylor Swift fan,” Trump said. “She always seems to endorse Democrats, and she’ll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace.”
