Damiano David Steps Out Solo with New Single "Silverlines"

Måneskin’s charismatic frontman, Damiano David, has officially announced his first solo venture, revealing a fresh chapter in his musical journey. After teasing fans with cryptic messages earlier this month, the singer confirmed that his debut single, ‘Silverlines’, produced by Labrinth, is set to drop on September 27.

In a recent interview at the 2024 MTV VMAs, David expressed excitement about the project, saying, “I’ve been working for a long, long time on a new project. And September 27 is the date of release so I would love everyone to stay tuned.” This marks a bold step for David, as he explores a more personal and vulnerable side of himself—something different from the high-energy, rebellious style of Måneskin.

David's decision to embark on a solo career is deeply rooted in self-discovery. As he shared in a teaser, “I travelled all around the world to find my voice, just to end up where everything started. My name is Damiano David, and today is the first day of my life.” This project promises to be a raw reflection of his own experiences and artistry, with ‘Silverlines’ being the first taste of what’s to come.

Despite the excitement surrounding his solo endeavor, Damiano assured fans that Måneskin remains strong. “The band is great,” he reassured, adding that they’re still working on new material together. “Nothing is going to change.”

In an interview with NME in 2022, Damiano David opened up about Måneskin’s relationship with their Eurovision success. He explained that the band had “never been scared of the Eurovision label,” seeing the competition as a stepping stone rather than the ultimate goal. “For us, Eurovision was never the goal – it was just a way to reach our goals,” David shared, emphasizing that the band always saw it as part of their journey, not the destination.

He further reflected on how Eurovision impacted their career, stating, “We’ve never been afraid of being ‘a Eurovision artist’ forever. We knew that it was going to change our lives. We’re happy, and we will always remember Eurovision as one of the main steps of our career.”
