Burial Delivers Soundtrack for Harmony Korine’s New Film via PS5

In a recent twist of modern collaboration, the elusive electronic artist Burial (William Emmanuel Bevan) has provided the soundtrack for Harmony Korine’s latest experimental thriller, Baby Invasion. Remarkably, this entire process was carried out without the two ever meeting in person or even speaking directly.

Korine, known for cult classics like Spring Breakers and Kids, revealed during a press conference that the soundtrack exchange was handled entirely through Discord and the PS5 gaming console. “I mean, Burial’s amazing. He’s a legend. We got in touch with each other, but I never actually met Burial and I never actually spoke with Burial,” Korine shared, highlighting the unique nature of their collaboration.

Baby Invasion, which premiered at the 2024 Venice Film Festival, follows a surreal plot where a group of mercenaries with baby-faced avatars navigate an ultra-realistic multiplayer FPS game. Korine hinted at an innovative viewing experience, where the film contains hidden codes that unlock additional layers of content.

Earlier this year, Burial released new singles "Dreamfear" and "Boy Sent From Above," continuing his enigmatic presence in the music world.
