Post Malone and Blake Shelton: Brewing Up a Country Hit in the Studio

Fresh off the success of his latest collaboration with Morgan Wallen, "I Had Some Help," which currently reigns atop many charts, Post Malone is wasting no time in teasing his next venture in the country music realm—this time alongside none other than Blake Shelton.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday (May 23), Post Malone shared a video where he's seen cracking open a beer and vibing in the studio, accompanied by a snippet of an upbeat track featuring Shelton. The song's lyrics paint a vivid picture of a carefree night out, as Shelton and Post trade verses like, "Somebody pour me a drink, somebody bum me a smoke/ I’m ’bout to get on a buzz/ I’m ’bout to get on a roll…I’ve been breaking my back, just keepin’ up with the Joneses."

Post Malone's recent musical endeavors have been nothing short of a collaborative spree. He recently joined forces with Beyoncé for "Leviis Jeans" from her album Cowboy Carter. This was followed by a highly successful collaboration with Taylor Swift on "Fortnight" from her album The Tortured Poets Department, which claimed the top spot on the All Media Hits Global Weekly Chart for one week. His partnership with Morgan Wallen is just the latest in a string of chart-topping hits.

This isn't the first time Post Malone and Shelton have shared vocal duties. Back in 2019, they united for an Elvis Presley All-Star tribute, delivering a memorable rendition of "Blue Suede Shoes." At 28 years old, Post Malone has shown a penchant for exploring the country genre, covering classics by icons like Hank Williams, Alan Jackson, and George Strait.

Post Malone has been leaving his mark on country music stages as well. At the recent ACM Awards, he debuted new music with a heartfelt ballad titled "Never Love You Again." And at last year's CMA Awards, Post Malone teamed up with Morgan Wallen and HARDY to pay tribute to the late Joe Diffie, performing covers of his hits "John Deere Green" and "Pickup Man."

Nine years ago, Post Malone even foreshadowed his foray into country, tweeting, "When I turn 30 I’m becoming a country/folk singer." It seems he's already making good on that promise, seamlessly blending genres and captivating audiences with his versatility and undeniable talent.
