Niall Horan's "This Town" walked so Noah Kahan's "Stick Season" could run. This fact became even more evident when the two stars teamed up on Monday for an unexpected duet in Nashville.
Fans couldn't contain their excitement when the former One Direction star interrupted his regular performance midway through the concert at the Bridgestone Arena to welcome Kahan on stage. "Since we're in Nashville, there are some good songwriters here," Horan said as the Vermont native came on stage.
The pair performed the Irish pop star's 2016 hit while sitting on stools and playing guitars. "If the whole world was watching, I'd still dance with you," they sang in gentle harmony. "Driving highways and byways to be there with you / Over and over, the only truth / Everything comes back to you."
“This Town” was the lead single from Horan’s debut solo album "Flicker". The remarkable success of "This Town" has sparked inspiration among a new wave of musicians, notably Noah Kahan. Kahan rose to prominence in 2022 with the release of his folk hit "Stick Season." The track, which delves into themes of bitterness and heartbreak, struck a chord with a wide audience.
After the show, Kahan tweeted that Horan is "a king." He also added, "I'm so inspired by the show I just watched."
Both the "Slow Hands" singer and Kahan are currently on tour; the "Dial Drunk" musician performed at the Bridgestone Arena just nine days before Horan joined him. The former boy band member will visit North Carolina, Virginia, and Pennsylvania, while Kahan will perform in Missouri, Kansas, and Minnesota this week.
