Omar Apollo Takes a Bold New Direction with "Less Of You"

Omar Apollo has dropped his latest single, "Less Of You", a track that teases a fresh sound from his upcoming second album, "God Said No". The Indiana-born artist, known for his genre-blending style, has drawn inspiration from the vibrant nightlife of London, where much of the album was crafted.

‘Less Of You’ joins previously released singles "Spite" and "Dispose Of Me", showcasing Apollo’s evolving musical landscape. Produced by Teo Halm and featuring guest appearances from Mustafa and Pedro Pascal, "God Said No" promises to be a rich, introspective journey. The album’s title, an interpretation of the Spanish phrase "Lo que será, será" (Whatever will be, will be), reflects a contemplative approach to fate and acceptance.

Set for release on June 28, "God Said No" delves into the aftermath of a poignant relationship. The title emerged from a friend’s lament, “I gave it my everything, and God said no,” capturing the essence of effort and resignation.

Following his debut album "Ivory" and a whirlwind tour supporting SZA and Billie Eilish, Apollo found himself in London’s creative embrace for three months last autumn. Immersed in the works of Kate Bush, Labi Siffre, and Lana Del Rey, and inspired by poets like Mary Oliver, Victoria Chang, and Ocean Vuong, Apollo’s time in the UK profoundly influenced his new material.

Adding to the excitement, Apollo has announced a sprawling 29-date tour. Kicking off in Indiana, the tour will traverse the US and Canada, featuring support from Kevin Abstract, Malcolm Todd, and Ravyn Lenae. Fans can expect a series of electrifying performances that will undoubtedly highlight his latest musical evolution.

With "Less Of You" setting the stage, Omar Apollo’s "God Said No" is poised to be a standout release, offering fans a deep dive into his artistic growth and personal reflections. Stay tuned for what promises to be one of the most compelling albums of the year.
