LL COOL J Drops First-Ever Collaboration with Eminem

Hip-hop icon LL COOL J has just unleashed his highly anticipated first collaboration with Eminem, titled ‘Murdergram Deux.’ This high-energy track is set to be a standout on LL COOL J’s upcoming album, THE FORCE, dropping September 6 via Def Jam Recordings and Virgin Music Group.

Co-produced by Eminem and Q-Tip, ‘Murdergram Deux’ serves as a sequel to the classic track ‘Murdergram’ from LL COOL J’s 1990 album Mama Said Knock You Out. The 14-track album features an impressive lineup, including Nas, Snoop Dogg, Rick Ross, Busta Rhymes, and Saweetie, among others.

‘THE FORCE’ marks LL COOL J’s 14th studio album and his first in 11 years. Fans have already been treated to singles like ‘Passion’ and ‘Proclivities,’ featuring Saweetie, building anticipation for the full release.

While ‘Murdergram Deux’ is their first official collaboration, LL COOL J and Eminem shared the stage in 2021 to perform ‘Rock The Bells’ at LL COOL J’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction, making their latest team-up a momentous occasion in hip-hop history.

Discussing the significance of THE FORCE, LL COOL J told NME that he aims to be “an anomaly” in the industry, proving that an artist can take an extended break and still return with a project that makes a significant impact. “Hip-hop hasn’t seen this kind of story,” he explained, noting how rare it is for an artist to step away for over a decade and come back with fresh, game-changing music.

On a different note, LL COOL J recently shared his thoughts on André 3000’s solo project New Blue Sun, which primarily features ambient flute music. The veteran rapper didn’t hold back, expressing his disappointment and calling for André 3000 to return to his hip-hop roots. “Let’s not lie to ourselves: I don’t wanna hear him do the flute,” LL COOL J said, emphasizing that fans want to hear the Atlanta legend either reunite with Big Boi for an OutKast album or drop a solo rap project.

André 3000 has since responded, reaffirming that he’s not currently confident about making a traditional rap album, despite fans’ wishes.
